Springboks hold the Guinness World Record for the largest herd of mammals!  In the 1800’s, there were herds as large as 10 million that stretched over 90 miles long!

They often have episodes of jumping called “pronking.”  Pronk is a Dutch word that means to “show off.”

Springboks come in three colors… traditional, black, and white.

When a male is interested in mating, he will urinate in the presence of a female; if she accepts, she, too, will urinate.  I do not recommend us humans trying this!
